The Production Designer is the senior creative department head responsible for developing and overseeing the physical visual world of a film or television production. Working with the Director and Director of Photography, the Production Designer establishes the design approach for sets, locations, environments, color, architecture, and visual details and supervises the art department’s execution of that design.
