Streaming

Streaming is the delivery of audio or video over a network so it can be played while data continues to arrive rather than requiring the entire file to be downloaded first. Film and television streaming may be subscription-based, advertising-supported, transactional, free, or bundled with other services.

This is a term used to describe a digital video recorder, and electronic device run off software similar to a set-top box for cable television, but it’s capable of storing and recording digital data, such as movies a then streaming for playback.
