With all the Memes going viral on Social Media, everybody’s proud to say where they’re from. Straight Outta Somewhere is a marketers dream with Beats by Dre at the helm, and it could show Hollywood how they can cultivate the #Social Skills to get people in theater seats. The Straight Outta Compton biopic was budgeted at $29 Million, which basically broke even on the first day. Hopefully, this will start a new trend in #filmmaking, steering away from remakes that once made a profit and gambling on if it will succeed.

Is one of the opening hooks of the song “Boyz n the Hood”, which is featured on album N.W.A. and The Posse. This was on Ruthless Records first EP, (short for extended play), a term used in the record industry for an album, 33 1⁄3 which content is usually less than an LP, it also featured a B-side as opposed to the A-side that contained the song, “Fat Girl”, their version of paying homage to a female BBW that they were running from. Ironically, Ice Cube’s first major hit film is of the same name, and many didn’t know until the “Straight Outta Compton” biopic that Ice Cube originally penned the lyrics to the song, which Eazy-E rapped over and Dr. Dre provided his vicious beats.
With Hollywood so desperately needing writers, and Producers to create new and compelling content, two new Screenwriter’s are to be noted, Jonathan Herman and Andrea Berloff who inherited the project and put down a blue print of Screenplay, with Straight Outta Compton, turning true stories of NWA into true prose, which became Cinematic virtue. However the word is, Herman is slated to rewrite Oliver Stone’s version of a Masterpiece “Scarface” starring Al Pacino, as to which the original version was made in 1932 . Let’s just hope he can embellish the project and not tank in the Hollywood remake storm. With a talented Cast of relatively newcomers in the game, Straight Outta Compton Stars O’shea Jackson Jr. son of Ice Cube; as Ice Cube, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre, Jason Mitchell as Eazy-E, Aldis Hodge as MC Ren and Neil Brown, Jr. as DJ Yella. We’re sure to follow their amazing careers in #acting as their new found stardom takes hold. The amazing Straight Outta Compton World Premier happened and was Star studded, on the Black Carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, adjacent to the Staples Center at LA Live. The Police believe the film “Straight Outta Compton” puts them in harm’s way.
On the contrary, the film exposes hatred the Police have had for the young black community for years. Utilizing the power of #MotionPictures, is if not more powerful than the music. The Police should not be mad, but they should find a solution to the problem…But first they must admit there is a problem. Then they can truly protect and serve the community, an oath they swore to uphold. All Cops are not bad, it’s just the one’s who think they are above the law…and a system that supports their efforts. #Socialbilitty #SNRTG.
Frankly speaking, from the moment they put on a uniform they are in harm’s way, there was violence on the streets of LA before this type of music and there will be after. Just think, if the violence on the streets came to a screeching halt, they would be out of a job. Fact, violence is business unfortunately, just like the movie business. The film speaks for its self, Rappers are #Artists, storytellers of the neighborhood, we all can play a part in changing the story, just ask LAPD Officer Grant Goosby who coaches the Watts Bears Football team, he describes how football has united a community. And this is how you Protect the kids from going down the wrong path, and Serve the community teaching a skill they can all learn, so when they become young men, they will know they don’t need to resolve to Gangs and or Gang activity. Los Angeles needs more Police Officers who care for the urban community. Matter of fact, the world needs more Police Officers who care for all of the urban communities, but it has to start somewhere. Gary would prove to be a perfect fit for Director of this film. The film industry is all about relationships and with Producers Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Tomica Woods-Wright; Eazy-E’s widow, along with Legendary Pictures this is no exception, having previously worked with Gary, they also have LA’s urban neighborhood’s in common as former stomping grounds. So indeed F. Gary Gray has “put his foot in it” with this film, utilizing his many skills of a compelling filmmaker. The Straight Outta Compton biopic was not however evasive to controversy. Production Companies in and of itself go through painstakingly difficult tasks that must be adhered to. There’s Pre-Production, Production and then Post-Production. However, the notion of shooting this film on Location in Compton and Los Angeles would need to uplift the community, and not insight violence. But this theory would come to a fatal conclusion before the end of Production. In the August 2015 issue of LA Weekly, stylized as an alternative newspaper, journalist Ben Westhoff describes his spin on the events that led to a fatality. Something we can all learn from no doubt. All in all, with the twists and turns of this roller coaster ride we call Motion Pictures, Straight Outta Compton is defiantly a must see. Enjoy!
