Debbie Allen, makes the Crenshaw District and more specificity the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza the new home for the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. The Film and Television Director/ Producer/ Choreographer is known as a for her Television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Fame, A Different World, In the House, Touched by an Angel and the Annual Academy Awards Ceremonies just to name a few. She is also the wife of of former Los Angeles Lakers Former Point Guard, none other than Stormin’ Norman Nixon. The entire Crenshaw area is going my under a change with the Crenshaw/ LAX light-rail line, being built to accommodate passengers throughout the city of Los Angeles. The Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is no exception. With Wal-Mart pulling out in the year of 2016 all of sudden, along with closing other stores in urban neighborhoods. The city of Los Angeles is planning a major overhaul of the Mall and surrounding areas. But for now, there’s only three remaining anchor stores. But the most confusing thing of all is the almost non-existent Leimert Park area, that was formally held in such high esteem. Is now is total state of ruins. The renovation of Leimert Park is a much need truth, and with all the constitution in the area today, the truth shall be self evident, or nothing further from the truth, which ever you please. So much culture and community, Project Blowed, Vision Theater, Marla Gibbs Crossroads, 5th Street Dicksa, as well as the Inner City Cultural Center for the performing and visual arts … A cultural and educational community that’s 70 years strong, celebrating cultural diversity, motion pictures and the performing arts that is one of the oldest retail districts within the city of Los Angeles, California.
The Space Shuttle Endeavor, made her last trip on land directly in front of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, enroot to its final resting place at the California Science Center.
