Gangster Squad Exhibit at the Old Petersen Automotive Museum

6060 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036

Back in the day, the at the old Petersen Automotive Museum where restaurants like Johnny Rockets original burger stand was featured with access to enter on Fairfax Ave. It was also a time when many vehicles were featured at the Petersen Auto Museum in a very dynamic way, usually hung up on the outside of the building. Like his 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Touring Sedan that was on display literally hanging up there, via car wall bracket. A promo for the film noir style Drama/Crime film Gangster Squad in 2013.

The  classic 1959 Cadillac was also a eye catching vintage vehicle on display on the main floor of the museum. During these times the Petersen Automotive Museum was utilizing the old Ohrbach’s Department store Architecture, located in the Miracle Mile District of Los Angeles, California.

Unfortunately, the old Ohrbach’s in LA is the same location where the late great Notorious BIG was tragically assassinated, during the end of his album release party March 9, 1997. This is also depicted in the 2009 Film Notorious, starring Jamal Woolard as Christopher Wallace, AKA Biggie Smalls, AKA The Notorious BIG.

Since his untimely death, Biggie Smalls assasination still has not been solved to this day. One can only imagine what he would be rapping about in this day and age.

With the construction of the new Metro Purple Line and the Academy Museum, there will definitely be more foot traffic in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles in the years to come.

With the Petersen Automotive Museum reopening however, is definitely a site to behold. Totally Renovated in 2015 and going with a completely different architecture Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the building is a completely modern mass of steel red ribbons that is now LA’s new landmark, hate it or love it. Just like Eye on LA would feature on there show.
